
Posillico, National Grid’s Remediation Contractor, commenced the initial site mobilization activities, which included the delivery of the initial portion of the interlocking steel sheet piles for the DNAPL Migration Barrier. In addition, Posillico commenced above-grade site clearing activities and the installation of the privacy screen along the fence line at the site perimeter. The truck decontamination system was delivered to the site and the initial mobilization of the base frame for the temporary fabric enclosure commenced.
For the week of November 10, 2008 through November 15, 2008, Posillico is scheduled to continue the site mobilization activities which include delivery of the additional sheet piles for the DNAPL migration barrier. In addition, Posillico is scheduled to continue above-grade site clearing activities and the installation of the privacy screen along the fence line at the site perimeter. National Grid’s consulting engineers will also install a portable CAMP and conduct the initial background (i.e., baseline) measurements.
National Grid submitted the 100 % Remedial Design Report (RDR) to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) on November 7, 2008.
